ePub Reader for Android

ePub is a free and open e-book standard by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Files have the extension .epub. It is designed for reflowable content, meaning that the text display can be optimized for the particular display device.

The feature of ePub, especially compared with Word and PDF formats, the content in an ePub book is not pre-formatted as fixed book pages. When a reader device displays the content of an ePub book, it formats the content into pages according to the display size and text font. So when you are reading an ePub book, all you have to do is only flipping the pages. You don't have to zooming or panning the window to view the page parts out of the displayed area.

Plainly speaking, the chapters in an ePub book are XHTML web pages, because almost the present electronic devices have the ability to display web pages, and XHTML pages fit in the reflowable requirement of the ePub spec. An epub-reader device is just added the ability to divide the displayed XHTML files into book pages. In fact, there is a built-in software engine in iPhone that formats XHTML into book pages, but Android does not has a such thing.

This freeware makes your Android phone become an ePub reader. It manages the .epub files you imported from SD card or downloaded from web sites, and let you read them by flipping as books, or by browsing as web pages. This software is not bound to any book store or online library. In addition, it provides you some web-site links to download DRM-free ePub files. If you are familiar with web browsing, the software reserves the function that lets you read the chapters as raw web pages.

[Features]

The software is a lite reader for ePub format. It only takes 400KB in your phone, and can run smoothly on low-end Android phones.

- It's also a downloader: The software is not bound to any book store or online library. It has a built-in web browser. You can visit any web site with this browser by entering a url. When you click a hyper link to an .epub file, the software downloads and imports this .epub file for your convenience. If you don't know where to download ePub books, the software provides you a list of web sites.

- Various operation modes: You can choose to read ePub files as web pages or as books. If you choose to read ePub books by page flipping, you can further choose to flip the pages by tapping or sweeping.

- Remembering the last reading position and bookmarks: The software automatically remembers the last reading position and used text size of each book for you. In addition, you can also remember the current reading position by adding a bookmark.

- Moving books to SD: it leaves your internal spaces for other apps.

- Low power consumption: This software does not kill your battery.

Remarks: There is already a know bug in Android 2.3 about running JavaScript bridge in WebView. If you get problems when reading books in book-flipping mode, please turn to web-browsing mode in Settings.

Although his parents are disappointed when only two people attend, Miles has learned to expect nothing more; he is not popular at his current school. When pressed, he uses François Rabelais's last words — "I go to seek a Great Perhaps" — to explain why he is leaving home. Miles' adventurous side made it easy for him to not be nervous as he left the place he had called home so many years before.

Read and Convert ePub to Kindle

I am sure you have many epub books collection.

There are easy way to convert these to Kindle so that you can read ePub files on your Kindle. They will appear on your book menu and can be read just like any other Kindle ebook.

Yes, Amazon’s Kindle will read ePub’s, but not by default. They must be converted. The Kindle definitely has the clearest screen and is currently the closest to actually reading a book. If you haven’t already got one, it’s worth getting a Kindle and converting the ePub book files.

Read ePub books on your Kindle

Can the Kindle read ePubs? You betcha but not by default, so the ePub file will have to be converted to a format that Kindle does recognize (you convert ePub to MOBI). There’s probably a few ways to do it, but here’s what I’ve found to be the most simple way.
To Start Download ePub to Kindle converter

ePub to Kindle converter is an ebook converter software program, install it on your computer where you want to connect your Kindle.ePub to Kindle works with Windows. I ran it on Windows 7 without any problems. It will automatically recognize your Kindle, when you plug it in and will handle the necessary conversion when you add a ePub to your Kindle.

Installing converter is as simple as downloading it and running the setup program, accept the license, click install.

Now connect your Kindle device. Once it is recognized “to Kindle” will be enable on the top toolbar of “ePub To Kindle converter”. Click to highlight the ePub books you wish to send to your Kindle and click this button.

What is the ePub format?

ePub is a free and open e-book standard. Here’s an interesting fact you may not know; ePub files are very much like web pages and can actually be edited with a web page editor. You can read more specifically about this fromat on Wikipedia if youre interested

Robin Hobb - Liveship Traders on ePub

Robin Hobb is the second pen name of novelist Margaret Astrid Lindholm Ogden (born 1952 in California) who produces primarily fantasy fiction, although she has published some science fiction.

The Liveship Traders Trilogy consists of Ship of Magic, The Mad Ship, and Ship of Destiny. This Trilogy bridges a gap of time between Hobb’s Farseer Trilogy and The Tawny Man Trilogy, which continues the adventures of Fitz and the Fool some years later. Although The Liveship Traders Trilogy is separate from Farseer and Tawny Man, it does feature the Fool in a minor, but delightful, role.

The Liveship Traders Trilogy mainly takes place southwest of The Six Duchies in Bingtown (a colony of Jamaillia) and focuses on Liveships (sentient ships). The trilogy is unusually nautical – an area seldom covered in fantasy – with the germ of it being apparently the idea of portraying ships whose figureheads are literally alive and sentient. While this trilogy does not follow FitzChivalry Farseer's life, it is linked to both the Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies.

Stephen King - Dark Tower Complete Series on epub

Are you fans on Stephen Kings Novelist? I am too.

The Dark Tower is a series of books written by American author Stephen King, (visit the sites here >> )which incorporates themes from multiple genres, including fantasy, science fantasy, horror and western. It describes a "Gunslinger" and his quest toward a tower, the nature of which is both physical and metaphorical. King has described the series as his magnum opus. Besides the seven novels that compose the series proper, many of his other books relate to the story, introducing concepts and characters that come into play as the series progresses. After the series was finished, a series of prequel comics followed.

The series was chiefly inspired by the poem "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came" by Robert Browning, whose full text was included in the final volume's appendix. In the preface to the revised 2003 edition of The Gunslinger, King also identifies The Lord of the Rings, Arthurian Legend, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly as inspirations. He identifies Clint Eastwood's "Man with No Name" character as one of the major inspirations for the protagonist, Roland Deschain. King's style of location names in the series, such as Mid-World, and his development of a unique language abstract to our own (High Speech), are also influenced by J. R. R. Tolkien's work.

Michael Davis - Street Gang : The Complete History of Sesame Street on .epub

One of the favorite stories I've heard my parents tell is about how, on the morning of their wedding, the whole crew of bridesmaids, groomsmen --- even the groom himself --- nearly missed getting to the church on time because they were so transfixed by a hip new television show they were watching in my dad's hotel room. That program? “Sesame Street.” When I was younger, having been raised on a steady diet of “Sesame Street” and its offspring, the idea of a bunch of grownups sitting around watching a kids' show seemed bizarrely funny to me.

In the historical and pop cultural context explained by Michael Davis in STREET GANG, however, the behavior of my parents' wedding party makes a whole lot more sense.
